Dressing for Fall in the Lowcountry
I couldn't be more ready for fall, but this 80-90 degree weather is making it extremely hard to dress like it! After looking at the forecasts in several of my favorite places in the country, it seems like we are all experiencing this warmer-than-usual fall weather, therefore, I've hand selected some awesome pieces that will allow you to still have a fall look, while dressing for the temperature.
tips:
1. fall tones
First, wearing more neutral colors in the brown and beige family will still give you a fall look without the heat stroke of a dark brown outfit. If you're feeling adventurous, mustard yellow is huge on the runway right now and I'm absolutely loving it. Seriously, such an amazing color on blondes and dark skin tones. For my brunette babes, burgundy and red are also trending this fall per Dolce & Gabana, Oscar De La Renta, and Givenchy.
2. steer clear of heavy fabrics
Unfortunately, the weight of clothes matters a lot here, therefore sticking with summer silhouettes is key! Fortunately, I have found the answer to that: WRAP DRESSES. I have recently been totally in love with wrap dresses for their simple look, classic style, comfort, and ease! Shop the one I'm wearing in this post here or below where you can find links to my entire outfit.
3. shoes
Its time to trade in your summer sandals for something a little bit more season appropriate, like a mule or block heel rather than an open toe. This will instantly change your look from summer to fall!
